Community Resilience Service of the Hong Kong Red Cross actively promotes the importance of disaster preparedness to various individuals through public education and community projects. It aims to enhance the public's confidence and ability to respond to disasters by conveying various basic disaster preparedness knowledge.

In the face of emergencies such as extreme weather events, fires and others, certain vulnerable groups like multicultural individuals, persons with disabilities, the elderly, or other individuals with special needs face even more significant risks and challenges due to resource limitations or other constraints.

By supporting our disaster preparedness education programs tailored for vulnerable communities, you can help enhance the disaster response capabilities of multicultural individuals, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.

The project includes:

  • Collaborate with social welfare organizations, special schools, or residential facilities to provide educational talks, workshops, experiential activities, disaster drills etc., for vulnerable groups to enhance their disaster response capabilities.
  • Translating disaster preparedness education and promotional materials into at least 4 common minority ethnic languages, including Indonesian, Nepali, Thai, and Urdu.
  • Providing appropriate disaster preparedness education activities for vulnerable groups through tailored educational content and suitable auxiliary equipment.

With a donation of $500, you can support our disaster preparedness education efforts for vulnerable groups, enhancing the confidence and capabilities of individuals from all sectors of society in responding to disasters.
