ISLP is initiated by the executive committee of the Hong Kong Red Cross University Club. The project aims to organize a team of university students to provide service in overseas. The entire team will be responsible for the project, and through pre-departure preparations, they will actively learn about local livelihood issues and humanitarian conditions. Additionally, they will equip themselves with relevant knowledge in order to organize activities that promote  physical, mental, spiritual well-being and educational programme to valuables in the local community.

After returning to Hong Kong, the volunteers will share their experiences and insights with other college students, raising awareness and concern among students on international humanitarian agenda.
